hi, i’m malaika.

the founder and face behind rumaani

A woman standing next to Valentine's Day decorations, holding a bouquet of flowers, with heart-shaped balloons and teddy bears.
A young woman with dark hair and earrings, wearing a cream-colored dress, sitting amongst pink and white flowers, holding her face with one hand, and looking directly at the camera. The background is partially dark with some light and rainbow-like reflections.
A woman with short black hair sitting on the floor, holding a brown teddy bear with a red flower and gray ribbon. Behind her, there is a white pedestal with a glass vase of colorful flowers and teddy bears with red bows. To the right, a display of several brown teddy bears with bows are stacked vertically, and there are small red flowers scattered around. The background is light pink with wooden paneling.

why rumaani?

what began as a passion project has evolved into something more. when i was working in a bakery, i realized just how much joy i got from making something beautiful out of nothing. i wanted a larger canvas to express that creativity — and that’s how rumaani was born.

as a member of the Desi community, i look at our rich culture and see so much inherent artistry. our clothes, our jewelry, and our celebrations are already so breathtakingly vibrant. my eye for design is deeply shaped by my culture's love of elaborate beauty, and i bring that energy into every arrangement i make.
